Cities are often identified with a particular cuisine–New Yorkers have pizza, Chicago has hot dogs, but Dayton has its own brand of locavores. Those searching for an authentic taste of Dayton need look no further than the PNC 2nd Street Market, located at the corner of Second and Webster streets. This year-round farmer’s market features farm-fresh produce, artisan breads, an assortment of meats and cheeses, plus everything you need to stock your pantry. Don’t forget to pick up Earth-friendly home goods, handmade jewelery, clothing and accessories, wine, and more! Grab a bite to eat from one of the prepared food vendors, offering everything from Mediterranean cuisine to French crepes to New Zealand meat pies to Thai dishes and even down-home cooking with soups, salads and sandwiches. When the flavors of multinational cultures blend perfectly with the taste of fresh-from-the-farm fare, the result is “Naturally Dayton.” Visit the Market between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. Thursdays and Fridays, and from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturdays.
