Let Our Gem Shine Again

When I think of the theme “Naturally Dayton,” I think of many things. The first is the many inventions and ideas that came to life in Dayton. Many products that we use in our daily life were generated from our little piece of the pie. The airplane, the step ladder, instant blood-glucose tester, the movie projector and many more was created here in Dayton, affecting the entire world, forever. The second thing that comes to mind is how Dayton’s slogan used to be “the cleanest city in America.”  Our city has fallen on hardships and the scars are evident. Trash in our neighborhoods have become a constant issue. I want to shine light on this issue so just maybe someone will change their way of thinking. Dayton is our city and it’s up to every single person to make a change. Dayton holds many beautiful parks and historical districts that highlight our amazing history. My love for Dayton runs deep, and always will.

Amanda is such an amazing friend to many people and inspires them to make a change. Thank you for shedding some light on things people try to ignore and helping them to recognize that everyone can make a difference.
